🐾Behavior Consults: Get the Full Picture Before You Commit

When your dog is struggling with serious behavior challenges, it’s important to find the real cause before jumping into training.
Our Behavior Consults are designed to give you a clear understanding of your dog’s needs, your training options, and the path that’s best for both of you — whether that means working together or connecting you with other trusted resources.

Let’s tackle those challenges together!

Why Start With a Consult?

Every dog — and every situation — is unique. By taking the time to meet, talk, and observe, I can make sure your goals are realistic, the training approach is appropriate, and you and your dog are set up for long-term success.
My goal is to give you answers, not just appointments — so you never waste your time, money, or hope.

🔍 What We’ll Cover:

  • Your dog’s full history, daily routines, and environment

  • The behavior concerns you’re seeing — including when, where, and why they happen

  • Any relevant medical history or recent changes

  • Your goals, expectations, and past training experiences

  • Observations of your dog’s body language and responses

  • Recommendations for next steps — including whether we should proceed with training, refer to a specialized behaviorist, or consult your veterinarian

  • We’ll also explore whether pain, injury, or medical conditions could be contributing to behavior changes — because sometimes, the best first step is a vet visit

📋 How It Works:

  • Format: 60–90 minute in-person or virtual session

  • Location: In-home or at a neutral location depending on the concern

  • Follow-Up: Written summary of observations, recommendations, and next steps

  • Approach: Compassionate, judgment-free, and focused on realistic, ethical solutions

🎯 Who This Is For:

  • Dog owners facing serious or complex challenges such as fear, reactivity, or aggression

  • Owners unsure if their dog’s behavior is training-related or health-related

  • New adopters wanting a professional assessment before starting training

  • Owners of rescue dogs who want a professional baseline before training

  • Anyone seeking clear guidance before committing time and money to a full program

💵 Pricing & Booking:

  • Behavior Consult: $25 cash / $26 card (tax applies)

  • Payment due at or before the session

If you’re a little further out, no problem — I can still come to you!

This helps cover extra time and gas so I can focus on giving you and your dog my very best. 🐾🚗

Case Example: Kristin & Carlos
Kristin reached out, worried about her dog Carlos’s increasing aggression. During our consult, I noticed some of his reactions could be linked to physical discomfort rather than purely behavioral causes.

I guided Kristin through a gentle at-home leg assessment, and Carlos showed signs that suggested possible knee pain. I recommended joint supplements and advised following up with her veterinarian to address any underlying pain before moving forward with training.

Behavior consults are about looking at the whole picture, ensuring that we address the real cause of a dog’s behavior — whether that means training, veterinary care, or both.
